About Dr. BRKR Govt. Ayurvedic College Hyderabad, Telangana

Dr. B.R.K.R. Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Hyderabad, is a well-established public institution for Ayurvedic studies, located in Erragadda (opposite the ESI Hospital) in Hyderabad, Telangana.  It was founded in 1935 originally as a private college in the Hyderabad State, and later converted into a government Ayurvedic college under the patronage of the Nizam, named after Sri Burgula Ramakrishna Rao.  The college is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) and is recognized by the regulatory authorities for Ayurvedic medicine. 
The institution offers the B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) undergraduate program with an intake of about 50 students per year.  In addition, it provides postgraduate education in multiple Ayurvedic disciplines; there are 7 PG departments with a total approved strength of about 38 seats. The PG specialities include Kayachikitsa (Ayurvedic General Medicine), Surgery (Shalya Tantra), ENT & Ophthalmology (Shalakya Tantra), Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Prasuti Tantra & Stree Roga), Dravyaguna (Ayurvedic Pharmacology and Materia Medica), Panchakarma, and Ayurveda Samhita & Siddhanta.
