Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, was established in the year 1996 with a divine mission and cherished desire of our Chancellor Hon’ble Dr.P.D. Patilwith the blessings of Honorable Dr. D. Y. Patil, Founder President. The institute is further nurtured and progressed under the dynamic leadership of ProChancellor, Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Hon’ble(Mrs) Dr. Bhagyashree Patil.
The Vision and Mission of establishing the College, Hospital and Research Centre is making healthcare easily accessible to all.
Since its inception, the Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre has made its mark as an “Institute of Excellence”. Today, it is recognized as a Renowned Teaching and Research Institution in the Country. It has received recognition from the National Medical Commission, New Delhi. The Institute initially started with MBBS Programme (UG) with an intake of 100 seats. It has expanded further with 250 MBBS seats, 220 MD & MS (PG) seats, 30 M.Ch / D.M (Superspeciality) seats, MPH programme in one subject, Msc Programme in 4 subjects, FellowshipCourses in 24 subjects, PhD Courses in all medical subjects, Certificate Courses in 8 subjects and Short TermTraining Programmes (STTP) in 12 subjects within a short span of 27 years.
Infrastructure
The research infrastructure at Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pune includes the OPDs and the In-patient Wards catering to the patients attending the hospital, the staff and employees taking care of the patients in the hospital as part of the 37 Departments at the Medical College, the Clinical Trials Unit, the Central Research Facility and the Central Clinical Laboratory. Facilities are provided for initiating new projects at the medical college by providing seed money. Facilities are also provided for patenting new products and for copyrights by providng the guidance and the funds required for the patents and the copyrights.
