Dr. Samuel George Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Dr. SGIPS), located on Tarlupadu Road, Markapur in Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh, was established in 2001 by the Late Rev. Dr. Samuel George under the Theresa Samuel George Society. It is a non‑minority, private institution affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University, and is approved by both the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and AICTE.
The college offers B.Pharm and M.Pharm programs, with postgraduate specialisations in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Pharmacology; it also has a doctoral (PhD) program in pharmaceutical sciences. Its campus is well‐equipped, with modern laboratories (which have won awards for being the “best laboratories” among affiliated colleges with Nagarjuna University), smart lecture halls, a well‑stocked library, computer labs with LAN and WiFi connectivity, and other amenities.
SGIPS places emphasis on research, holistic student development, health care education, and aims to mould students into socially responsible, entrepreneurially capable professionals. It also serves rural students, with a vision to refine them into global leaders in facing pharmaceutical education challenges.
