About Government Autonomous Ayurved College Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh

Government Autonomous Ayurveda College & Hospital, Jabalpur, established in 1971, is a well‑known autonomous Ayurveda institution located near Gwarighat Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh, on the bank of the Narmada river.  In 1997 it was granted autonomous status by the Madhya Pradesh government.  Currently it is affiliated with the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur.  The college offers a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurved Medicine & Surgery) degree course, with an annual intake of around 40‑75 students (depending on seat allocation) over a period of 5½ years including compulsory internship.  The campus spreads over about 36.9 acres and includes facilities such as a herbal garden (with more than 250 plant species), a 60‑bed hospital, separate hostels for male students, departmental laboratories for practical training, a well‑stocked library (approx 12,000 books), and an attached hospital with departments offering both OPD and IPD services including Panchakarma.  The hospital treats a variety of conditions through Ayurveda disciplines like Kaya Chikitsa, Shalya, Shalakya, Stri‑Prasuti Tantra etc., and also provides public‑health services including free medicines under government welfare schemes.
