Government Medical College, Bhavnagar (GMC Bhavnagar) is a government medical college in Gujarat, established in 1995.  It is affiliated with Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, and recognized by the National Medical Commission. Originally it started with just 50 MBBS seats per year, but over time the capacity has been increased — in 2019 it was raised to 200 undergraduate seats. It also offers postgraduate courses in many specialties; there are over 20 disciplines in which postgraduate (MD/MS/Diploma) seats are available. The college is tied to Sir Takhtsinhji Hospital (often called “Sir T Hospital”) which serves as its teaching hospital. It caters to not only the Bhavnagar district but also neighbouring districts, serving a large patient population with outpatient and inpatient care.  The hospital‑campus is located close to the college campus (about 500 metres away), linked by infrastructure such as LAN and telephone systems. In terms of infrastructure, GMC Bhavnagar has facilities typical of a well‑equipped medical college: multiple lecture halls, departmental labs, museums, central library, hostels (separate for male & female students), OPD blocks, etc.  The hospital is expanding — number of teaching beds increased, average outpatient load is large.
