About Mai Bhago Ayurvedic Medical College for Women Muktsar, Punjab
Mai Bhago Ayurvedic Medical College (for Women), located at Ferozepur Road, Sri Muktsar Sahib (Punjab)-152026, is a private, self-financing Ayurvedic institution dedicated exclusively to women. Established in the memory of the valorous woman warrior Mai Bhago, the college is run by the Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society, Muktsar, and aims to embody the principles of service, sacrifice and self-effacement.
The college is permanently recognised by the Government of Punjab, approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Government of India, and affiliated with Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur (Punjab).The approved intake for the undergraduate Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) programme is 60 seats.
The campus boasts a dedicated charitable hospital with about 60 beds on-site, giving students practical clinical exposure in an Ayurvedic hospital setting. Infrastructure-wise, it features girls’ hostel accommodation, library, laboratories, auditorium, sports grounds and gymnasium ensuring a holistic education environment. The institution emphasises an integrated educational philosophy: nurturing young women into competent Ayurvedic practitioners who are grounded in classical knowledge, yet responsive to contemporary healthcare needs.
