Starting of the Nangelil Ayurveda Medical College under the aegis of Nangelil Charitable Trust (Reg.No.SR/P/3-2001) in 2002 was a milestone in the growth of the Trust considering the facilities, Govt of Kerala had accorded sanction and approval to start the Ayurveda and conducts Ayurveda Acharya (BAMS) 51/2 year course envisaged and approved by the NCISM New Delhi. This is fully under the governance of the board of directors of the trust and Mr.M.E.Sasi is the president of the Trust.
The College was initially affiliated to M G University and later in 2010 got affiliated to the Kerala University for Health Sciences. Admission procedures are strictly as per the guidelines of the Govt of Kerala stipulated time to time.
Currently the admission capacity is 60 per year out of which 100% will be through NEET entrance examination. Currently 300 students are studying in this institution and 60 doing HouseSurgency (internship). Prof.Dr.Reji M Varghese MD (Ay), the principal is an experienced academician, researcher, clinician and administrator retired from Government Ayurveda College.
