Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University was founded through the Uttarakhand Adhiniyam, 2016 (UK Act No. 35 of 2016), an act passed by the Uttarakhand Legislature and formally approved by the Governor in December 2016.
The University functions under the guidance of the Mahayana-Theravada-Vajrayana Buddhist Religious and Charitable Trust, Meerut. This Trust, previously known as the Dr. Jagat Narain Subharti Charitable Trust, Dehradun, was established in 2011 and has an impressive history of service across education, healthcare, philanthropy, and social welfare.
The University’s principal site, named Subhartipuram, is situated at Kotda Santaur, Aamwala Road, Nanda Ki Chowki, Premnagar, in Dehradun. It is conveniently located just one kilometer off National Highway-72 (Chakrata Road).
Spanning 20 eco-friendly acres at the base of the Himalayas, the campus provides a tranquil and motivating setting. This serene environment is complemented by a modern physical plant and an extensive array of amenities.
Subharti University is dedicated to achieving high standards in academics and ensuring the complete development of its students. The institution boasts a highly credentialed faculty committed to helping students realize their full capabilities and evolve into effective future leaders, scientists, scholars, professionals, and technologists.
To facilitate learning, the University provides a broad selection of technology-supported educational tools, which include smart classrooms, sophisticated laboratory facilities, and a comprehensive library. The library offers access to a rich collection of full-text electronic journals and various online research databases.
A core feature of the University is its success in cultivating an educational atmosphere that seamlessly blends rigorous academic study with extracurricular involvement. Furthermore, it maintains a strong institutional focus on inculcating moral, ethical, and social responsibility in its students.
