The technical education sector took a different turn in Kerala from the year 2003 when the state Govt. in principle agreed to permit self-financing private institution in Kerala state. As a result Govt. allowed 20 institutions, which impart under graduate pharmacy in the state of Kerala. By 2008 about 1300 graduates pass out every year from the pharmacy Institutions. Even though the pharmaceutical industry has not grown in Kerala the graduates find suitable place in pharmaceutical industries outside the state or in abroad and in hospital environments the graduate who pass out from Kerala are well absorbed in important posts in gulf countries also.
It was in this scenario Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Educational and Charitable Society thought of establishing new Technical Educational Institution in the state of Kerala. The institution started at Trikarpur in Kasaragod district. The campus is spread over 3.5 acres of land with panaromic views of lush gardens. The magnanimous building with built up area of about 46000 Sq.fet is well equipped with spacious laboratories, qualified faculties, class rooms, well furnished library, modern equipments, teaching aids and other facilities as prescribed by All India Council for Technical Educations and Pharmacy Council of India. The premise is meant for development of knowledge based education.
