The department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rungta College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (RCPSR), Bhilai (affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, Bhilai Chhattisgarh has been a relent less and pioneer in spreading the Pharmaceutical education in each nook and corner of globe. It has established in 2006 and completing 18 years of successful journey since 2006. The Institute is running Diploma, Graduation, Post-Graduation and PhD. Programs in Pharmacy. The Institute is recognize for its excellence in producing GPAT qualified students in the State.
With an aim to encourage, aspiring researchers achieve new breakthroughs, the Rungta Research and Development Foundation (RRDF) had been established. Our state-of-the-art research labs have been equipped with the most updated research devices & equipment's required, like highspeed cooling centrifuge, Rotary Tablet Press Machine, Programmable six station dissolutiontest apparatus, Brookfield viscometer, HPLC, UV-Spectrophotometer, Stereotaxic apparatus, High Precision Laboratory Balance, Ultrasonic Bath, Humidity & temperature control cabinet, Particle size analyzer, FTIR etc. The sophisticated instruments lab of RCPSR, Bhilai is in the process of constant upgradation since last 3 years to carry out research activities. Various sophisticated equipments are being procured under Institutional funding as well as the fund received for the research projects from Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi, Department of Science and Technology (DST) and CGCOST, Raipur.
For research supervision, we have a dedicated committee of senior academicians, Professors and Industry professionals who mentor students in carrying out various research projects. Some of the major research projects include Nano technology, In Situ Gelation, Solubility Enhancement, Tablet Processing, etc.Faculties of the institute are engaged in research activity, have published their research article in many-reputed National and International Journal, and visits many countries like Dubai, Singapore and USA.
Department has made significant contribution in Pharmacy education and research. It has published more than 200 research papers in last 10 years in various national and foreign journals and has filed 11 patents. So far department has produced about 4 Ph.D. in different discipline and department is running various major research projects sanctioned by AICTE, DST, UGC, CGCOST etc. The faculty members of this department have made remarkable contribution to the profession of Pharmacy.
