About S. S. Institute of Medical Sciences Davangere, Karnataka

Founded in July 1958, the BEA was established for the advancement of education in the fields of Arts, Fine arts, Commerce, Education, Humanities, Law, Science, Medicine, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Management Studies & other allied educational facilities. In addition to creation of providing a resource bank for the country in ‘times of need’, BEA established and manage Hospitals, Charitable Institutions for the benefit of society.
Today, 55 years on, the BEA manages as many as 43 educational institutions ranging from kindergartens to professional colleges offering post-graduate courses. The association runs 11 hostels for their students - three for boys and eight for girls.

The world is constantly changing, and educational methods need to change with it, especially in the field of medicine. SSIMS is devoted in developing a critical, self-reliant and inquiring approach to medicine, flexible enough to prepare the student for the evolving future, without forgetting the value of traditional means and practices.

While the nurturing of future doctors and medical scientists of the world is a priority at large, SSIMS always orients itself towards new in-roads into super-specialty areas that particularly benefit the rural population. Today we seek to bring the whole of central Karnataka under one medical umbrella, bringing to the doorstep of the poor, the latest medical facilities, as available anywhere in the world.
