🙏 The Enduring Mission of Fatima Hospital, Mau

Fatima Hospital, Mau, established on May 31, 1977, has been steadfastly committed to its foundational mission of providing HEALTH AND WHOLENESS to the rural impoverished population of EASTERN UTTAR PRADESH. The hospital originated from the deep concern and cherished vision of the late Most Rev. Bishop Patrick D’Souza, then Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Varanasi. The Medical Sisters of St. Joseph congregation agreed to collaborate on this dream, making Fatima Hospital the region's first healthcare institution.

Today, Mau has evolved into a district headquarters with a population exceeding 2.2 million and has become a health hub hosting over 75 healthcare facilities. After more than four decades, Fatima Hospital maintains its sharp focus on delivering comprehensive, multi-specialty, and super-specialty services, serving as a HEALING PRESENCE for the wounded world, especially the rural poor.

🌟 Legacy and Commitment

The congregation that owns and operates the hospital was founded by Msgr. Joseph C Panjikkaran. Known for establishing major institutions, his legacy is one of zeal and compassion for the suffering. He was instrumental in bringing modern medicine to women in Kerala, overcoming significant cultural barriers and restoring their dignity.

In the contemporary healthcare landscape, marked by tremendous advancements, competition, and increasing government regulation and public health schemes, Fatima Hospital, Mau, distinguishes itself. It offers a culture of genuine caring alongside a commitment to professional excellence. The hospital actively embraces innovation and the adoption of new, appropriate, and cost-effective healthcare advancements.

🤝 Future Partnership and Outreach

Fatima Hospital reaffirms its dedication to promoting health and well-being for all individuals and communities, with a special concern for the differently abled, disadvantaged, marginalized, and vulnerable. Fulfilling its role as a living testament to the healing mission of Christ, the hospital actively seeks support and participation in its programs—including education, service, outreach, and research—from friends and agencies both domestically and internationally, fostering a genuine spirit of partnership.
