Established in 1910, BLDE Association is committed to the cause of providing quality education, from primary to University education, in the backward region of North Karnataka.
During its history of over 100 years, the association was built into a formidable educational organization by great visionaries Dr. P. G. Halakatti, known as ‘Vachana Pitamah’ in Kannada Literature, Shri Shri Sanganabasaveshwar Maha Shivayogigalu of Banthanal, a religious leader, and Dr. B. M. Patil, educationist and statesman.
Presently, the association is guided by Dr. M. B. Patil, a visionary leader and a towering figure in Karnataka politics.
The academic environment is supported by a large, unitary campus spread over 45-71 acres and a dedicated teaching hospital, Shri B. M. Patil Hospital and Research Centre, which is a 1,200+ bed facility that provides extensive clinical material and tertiary care services. Emphasizing both academics and research, the institution features modern infrastructure, including a massive central library, advanced skill laboratories, and specialized research centers.
