About Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurvedic College Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurvedic College, Raipur (Chhattisgarh), is one of the oldest and most respected government institutions for Ayurvedic education in India.Established around 1949‑50 through a donation of land by Late Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi (who donated five villages) and further contributions from patrons like Shri N. K. Dungaji, the college now sits on an expansive and eco‑friendly campus of about 89.3 acres. Located on G.E. Road near NIT Raipur, it is well‑embedded in the city while having ample open space for its academic, hospital, herbal garden and residential facilities.  The college offers the B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) course under current CCIM / NCISM norms, along with postgraduate (M.D./Ayurveda and some M.S./Ayurveda) courses in several specialties. Its attached hospital, the Shri Khudadad Dungaji Govt Ayurved College Hospital, has about 194 beds and includes diagnostic facilities and clinical services for students. Its infrastructure is strong: separate hostels for boys and girls, herbal garden, pharmacy, a state drug‑testing laboratory, e‑learning centre, library with a large collection of books, departmental labs, lecture and seminar halls, residential quarters for staff, etc. Published fee ranges for the undergraduate BAMS course are around ₹ 88,880 to ₹ 1,30,000 per year (for general/private type seats, etc).  Overall, the college combines traditional Ayurvedic teachings with reasonably modern amenities and good clinical exposure, making it a premier choice for students in Chhattisgarh and neighbouring regions.
