Subbaiah Institute of Medical Sciences is a unit of Tadikela Subbaiah Trust (R), Shimoga, (Karnataka), India. The Trust formed in the year 2003 by Sri. T. Subbaramaiah, an agriculturist by calling, and a visionary, imbued with a zeal for taking education and research to regions that would remain seamless in their sweep and sway. As the head of his family, Sri Subbaramaiah believed that even the longest journey begins with the first step.
The campus is spread over a lush green area, offering a conducive environment for focused academic pursuit. The institution is attached to a large multi-specialty teaching hospital, which provides students with extensive clinical exposure and hands-on training across approximately 1,100 beds and various departments. SIMS offers undergraduate (MBBS) and various postgraduate (MD/MS) programs, maintaining modern infrastructure including well-equipped laboratories, advanced clinical skill labs, and a central library to foster a strong foundation in medical science and research.
Subbaiah hospital is fully functional with all facilities and advanced technology. Students are provided with adequate opportunities to interact with patients and gain first hand clinical experience. The hospital houses various departments, respective wards, Trauma and Emergency services which are available 24X7. Well-trained Casualty Medical Officers who are assisted by a number of senior and junior doctors are accessible to 16 Operation Theatres. The hospital has one of the best Radiology centers in Karnataka, having state-of-the-art MRI machine, Spiral CT Scanner, Mammography machine, High-Resolution Color Doppler, the latest Ultrasound machine and latest X-ray machines (800mA, 500mA, 300mA, 100mA, dental x-ray, mobile x-ray).
In order to provide Medical aid SMCH Hospitals, Health Centers and research centers have been attached to the colleges which are working for eradication of diseases and improvement of health among poor public.
