About Tapovana Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital Davangere, Karnataka

Ayurveda, rooted in the Sanskrit term meaning "science of longevity," is an indigenous system of medicine in India, originating from the Atharvaveda. Its primary focus is on disease prevention, healing, longevity, and healthy aging. Ayurveda emphasizes comprehensive regimens, including Dinacharya (daily routines), Ratricharya (nightly routines), Rutucharya (seasonal routines), and Sadvritt (ethical practices), all supporting the concept- "Prevention is better than cure". It identifies poor digestion and weak immune systems as primary causes of illness. Ayurvedic practices encompass herbal medicines, animal-derived compounds like mrugashringa, gorochana, etc., minerals and metallic compounds, surgical techniques, leech therapy, oleation therapies, and many more.

Recognizing the significance of Ayurveda, Tapovana Ayurvedic Medical College was established to promote these disciplines and create a holistic, healthy world. The College is functioning at its permanent building in a sprawling campus of 3 acres, architecturally designed according to CCIM norms. It is equipped with an in-house research hospital, a medicinal garden, a well- stocked library, advanced laboratories, and museums. Our lecture halls feature the latest audio-visual technologies including smart boards and projectors to enhance students' cognitive learning experiences. We welcome students into the Ayurvedic culture through the Shishyopanayana ceremony. Our campus hosts a variety of events such as Fresher’s Day, orientations, national and religious festivals, National Health events, and annual sports and cultural activities. Our students have achieved notable success, winning prizes in intercollege competitions and securing ranks in RGUHS examinations.
