Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya (TAMV), Pune is one of the oldest and well‑established Ayurveda colleges in Maharashtra, India. It is run by Rashtriya Shikshan Mandal and is located in Rasta Peth, Pune.
Founded on 26 June 1933, the college has a long legacy of Ayurvedic education. In 1962 it was renamed “Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya” in honour of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, with the then Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan presiding over the renaming.
The college is a Maharashtra government‑aided institution and is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. It is also recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the Ministry of AYUSH.
Academically, TAMV offers the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) programme with an annual UG intake of 125 students. It also offers postgraduate MD/MS courses in 14 Ayurvedic specialties, and Ph.D. programmes in all those specialties under MUHS.
Infrastructure and facilities include an attached hospital (Seth Tarachand Ramnath Charitable Ayurvedic Hospital) with many beds, well‑equipped labs, separate hostels for male and female students, libraries for UG and PG with books and journals, modern classrooms with audio‑visual aids, and also herbal gardens.
