Triveni Institute of Pharmacy
About Triveni Institute of Pharmacy Thrissur, Kerala
The Triveni Institute of Pharmacy (TIP), located in Kechery, Thrissur District, Kerala, stands out as a prominent educational institution in the region, notable for being a Government of Kerala undertaking managed by the Kerala State Co-operative Consumers' Federation ("Consumerfed"). Established in 2013, the institute was founded with the explicit aim of addressing the need for qualified pharmacists to support and expand Consumerfed's own Neethi medical stores network while also inspiring and educating future pharmacists for patient care, particularly within Kerala. TIP is officially affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), Thrissur, and is approved by both the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The campus is spread across approximately 2.5 to 3 acres and features a four-storied building with a significant built-up area to accommodate all the necessary infrastructure for its programs, which include the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm), each having an annual intake of around 60 seats. The institute places a strong emphasis on practical education, providing well-equipped pharmaceutical laboratories for subjects like Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Pharmacology, complemented by a large library containing a wide collection of books and periodicals. Its strategic location on the Thrissur-Kuttippuram state highway, along with on-campus facilities like a girls' hostel, underscores its commitment to creating a disciplined and conducive learning environment focused on ethical practice and high-quality standards in pharmacy education and research.
