Florence Nightingale was born in to the aristocratic social sphere of Victorian England in 1820. Nightingale stated clearly for the first time that mastering a unique body of knowledge was required of those wishing to practice professional Nursing.
Profession exist to serve society. When society changes, profession must also change. So Nursing profession should possess skill to our relevance and dynamism today. Two major challenges in nursing have merged in the twenty first century. The first is to integrate the concepts of technology, mind and spirit into nursing practice. The second is to create and integrate models for health care that guide the healing of self and others.
