M.Sc. Optometry is a postgraduate degree course that imparts advanced study on diagnosis and treatment of the common eye-related diseases and refractive disorders. It includes the study of subjects like general physiology and ocular physiology, hospital procedures, low vision aids, geometrical optics, nutrition etc. An optometrist can also prescribe eye tests, collaborate with opticians, ophthalmologists, teach optometry, assist in vision screens at schools and can provide optometric counselling to patients with partial sight and hereditary vision defects.
